Weird Facts about Canadian Animals

Some of the weirdest animals in the world live right here in our own Canadian backyard:

• Flying squirrels have special flaps of skin stretching from their ankles to their wrists so the squirrel can glide from tree to tree.
• The polar bear does not need to drink water. Its body makes all the water it needs when it digests the bear’s favourite food–seal blubber.
• Narwhals live in the Arctic. They have a long tooth that grows out of their upper lip.
